The Initiative is intended to expand youth hockey, figure skating, address regional recreation demand and support long-term community use while generating economic and tourism activity
San Diego International Motorsport Initiative
Advising on early-stage efforts to assess and shape San Diego's long-term potential as a future host market for Formula 1 and other globally significant sporting events. Current work includes evaluation of regional hospitality capacity, corporate sponsorship landscape, infrastructure readiness and public-private partnership dynamics.
Current analysis also reflects continued growth in global motorsport audiences, expanding U.S. race demand, and the opportunity for coastal destination markets to leverage major sporting events to drive tourism, investment visibility and regional economic activity.

Derek brings a practical, execution-focused approach to projects that require coordination, accountability, and long-term impact.
Current Initiatives:
Derek is currently spearheading development efforts related to a proposed regional ice facility in Murrieta, California. He's also leading exploratory initiatives tied to future Formula 1 opportunities in Southern California, while developing ConstructAI, a next-generation platform focused on building, planning, sourcing and execution within the construction industry. Through Harvey & Kin Consulting, he provides advisory support on civic, nonprofit, and community-based projects.
